Arkenian Kitsune

You stop for a break, and it comes up to join you, its long pink tongue lapping up the water, breathing heavily. Its energy level is so high that it spends most of the day running, exploring all of the land around The Keep and constantly playing with other pups of its kind.

They are full of energy when young, constantly playing with a jade ball that the have had since you can remember. It is all you can do to raise your hands and ward off warm licks.

This usually only happens if food is scarce; their hunting grounds reach from Silva Forest to the high mountains. Rocs are known to be very dangerous by common folk, but if trained, they can have very calm temperaments. If attacked or startled, however, they do pose a signifigant threat. Their senses can easily be heightened, and rocs are too large for any human to control. Powerful enough to carry their magi through the skies, rocs make lethal companions, though they are becoming increasingly difficult to find. They hide their eggs high in the mountains, and explorers do not dare to venture near their nesting grounds often. Rocs are fiercely protective of their nests, and will attack anyone who approaches their enormous eggs.
Ice Phoenix

Хатчлинг: A baby phoenix has hatched from this egg, blue and white, the colors of fire at its hottest. Although the egg was burning in cool flames, the hatchling seems to be safe enough, although it radiates cold. Occasionally it will let out a puff of white smoke or shake blue sparks from its body. Almost constantly hungry, a phoenix hatchling is difficult to keep sated. Worms and beetles seem to make tasty treats, and this youngling spends much of the day hunting through grass for morsels. This baby also has a tendency to crawl into the snow and fall asleep.
Взрослый: This magnificent phoenix has matured to it's adult form. Its radiant wings and majestic flight are most impressive. A sharp beak is a powerful tool in battle, yet is typically only used for feeding. Mostly living in extremely cold lands, phoenixes are mostly encountered in the Arkene and around frigid tundrav in the far north. Cool blue and icy white are signs to other creatures of a phoenix's presence, and in due respect, most animals do not approach. An adult phoenix is a powerful ally, with great power over excruciatingly cold flame, and a creature you would not wish to face in the wild.

Because of their unique pattern of rebirth, phoenixes live for many centuries, and become extremely wise and ancient. As adults, they are beautiful birds with feathers resembling cold flames, and are extremely happy to travel to any cold climates. They have incredible mastery over frigid fire, and on a cold winter night will sleep outside, often burrowing into a snow bank or finding a sheet of ice to slumber upon.
Light Narwhal

Хатчлинг: A small narwhal can be seen playing with the koi fish, twisting and showing off its single, ivory horn. Every so often it leaps high into the air, enjoying the cool water. If you come to the edge and wait patiently, the baby narwhal will swim up and allow you to pet it. If you slip in to swim with it, it will gladly give you a ride.
Взрослый: Once fully grown, narwhals are large and powerful, and magi often travel on their backs when the need arises to visit distant lands. With their horn as the only weapon they need, narwhals travel unthreatened in all water, giving their masters a unique way to travel. Equally content to stay home, narwhals are happy to spend their time with other creatures of the sea.
Общее: Narwhals, as their name implies, belong to a rare breed of arctic whales. Unlike their cousins, however, narwhals possess a single, mighty horn. Stronger than typical whales, narwhals are capable of traveling long distances, oftentimes with their masters. Narwhal eggs are located in the depths of the oceans, and it is difficult and dangerous to retrieve them.
Arkenian Kitsune

Хатчлинг: A mischievous little pup is running in circles, yelping every now and then as it enjoys its play. It comes when you call it, panting happily. As fast as any of your steeds, it accompanies you on your latest travel, now taking off into the trees in search of prey. You glance to your side, seeing it flitting through the trees, full of the joy of the run. You stop for a break, and it comes up to join you, its long pink tongue lapping up the water, breathing heavily. Its energy level is so high that it spends most of the day running, exploring all of the land around The Keep and constantly playing with other pups of its kind.
Взрослый: Stealth and quiet, kitsune are able to explore without being noticed, sneaking into dangerous territories with ease. This talent is extremely helpful in obtaining eggs from unsafe places, where magi dare not venture themselves. Gently carrying these eggs back in their mouths, kitsune can evade almost any creature with their nimbleness. Seemingly never tired, kitsune make wonderful allies on journeys, rarely needing to rest. Arctic foxes, adapted to frigid lands, are extremely useful companions to magi traveling to Arkene. Places impossible for a magi to go are easily accessible to these creatures, and eggs from cold lands are found more easily with their help.

With superior intelligence and magical powers, it is impossible to catch a wild kitsune. Raised by magi, however, these creatures are friendly and sweet, and not as cautious as their untamed kindred.
Silvian Alphyn

Хатчлинг: You could swear this little hatchling is grinning up at you, jaws parted to show rows of sharp teeth. With a shake of its head, it turns back to its game of chasing its tail, wearing itself out. Eventually the little alphyn tires, falling into a sitting position. A long red tongue lolls, ending in a tiny fork. The little one blinks its eyes slowly, not complaining when you pick it up to tuck it into its bed. Once you've carried it to its cushion, it nuzzles your hand sleepily and curls up. You wait until the alphyn is deep in dreams before untangling its tail, which no matter how many times you untangle it, manages to get tied up again.
Взрослый: Alphyns are extremely loyal companions, capable of great affection. The size of a small dog, they seem to be a mixture of many different creatures – most have manes, and all have talons and long, snake-like tongues. They are excellent hunters, long ears giving them incredibly hearing abilities, and strong jaws. They're more energetic than most creatures, and it's unusual to see one resting for long. They travel in packs, and can be very playful. Hatchlings are generally looked after by adults, and taught the skills needed to survive. Alphyns have adapted to live in very difficult climates, and are small, fierce creatures. One of the only things they're frightened of is deep water, an adversity perhaps coming from a feline part of them. An alphyn guilty of smelling can be seen running away from a vexed magi trying to wash it, a humorous sight for onlookers.

Scaled forelegs have cruel claws capable of shredding through almost any substance. Magi training these animals will wear leather gauntlets to protect themselves, although tame alphyns only attack when threatened. They travel in packs, almost like a family, and usually leave an adult home at the lair to look after pups. When an alphyn hatches, it may be a different color than you expect. Depending on where they make their homes, they differ in looks; some can even be mane-less. In Voltar, they have adapted to match the sun and volcanoes in which they create their lairs, while those living in Silva have changed their fur to an almost green color. Sly creatures, they are wise choices when embarking on a mission that demands speed and stealth.
Niveus Enox

Хатчлинг: This pale foal loves nothing more than playing, frolicking in one of the many fields around The Keep. Niveus hatchlings are particular friends with white pegasi, and the two can often be seen nibbling at patches of grass together. Seeing you standing at the edge of the field, the little hatchling gallops towards you, wings outstretched. It slows as it nears you, and you step forward to give it a good rub, right behind the wings where it can't reach. The little enox happily lays its head against your shoulder as you give it a good scratch, and you smile at its happiness. Soon, though, the foal leaves you to rejoin the game, delighting in the company of the other hatchlings.
Взрослый: Trotting along the edge of the field is a enox, its pale coat bright in daylight. It turns a bright golden eye to you, and you rummage in your cloak for an apple. With a swift bite the apple disappears, and the niveus paws the ground, asking for another. With a wry grin, you produce a second apple, which vanishes with similar speed. Sated, light enox gives you a single bob of its head in thanks, before turning and continuing on its way. You watch as it goes, eyes trailing along the golden feathers that the sun catches. A similar gleam draws your gaze to the ground, where a gorgeous feather lies. You bend to retrieve it, twisting in your fingers and marveling at its beauty. You turn to continue to The Keep, pondering what jewelery you could make with this pretty feather.

Хатчлинг: What was a sweet, tiny foal has quickly grown into quite the handful. The draconian ancestors of this species have left their mark; your hatchling loves to bite, and still has not distinguished between a toy and your hand. With a dark coat and feathered wings, it is much like a pegasus, but shares nothing of the pegasi's nature. All the scrolls you have studied tell you one thing: an improperly trained enox is a danger even to its magi. The hours you have spent at the training field are beginning to show, however, as this little one has become attached to you. Noctis enoxes have their own field, and generally only play with each other – their idea of play is rather rough, and other hatchlings are wary of enoxes as playmates.
Взрослый: Although superstitions have most people believing these are creatures of doom, dark enoxes prevent untimely deaths – at least for their magi. A creature daring enough to attack an enox must either be lacking in wit or very enraged. Dark purple horns are powerful weapons, as well as hooves that can lash out at a moment's notice, often breaking bone. Wild enoxes are to be avoided, and it is known to be extremely difficult to steal an egg from these creatures. Unlike most horses, they do not travel in herds, and are very territorial, guarding their land with vengeance. In The Keep, they grow restless if not given free reign, and often leave for weeks to frequent Silva Forest. While they make powerful steeds, magi do not ride them to the northeast, for the common folk fear them – rightly so.

Tenera Dog

Хатчлинг: Whenever you go looking for your little tenera youngling, you find it with another young one. These two pups have a deep bond, and go almost everywhere together. Today they are sleeping entwined under an ancient tree, in the warmth of the sun. Tenera dogs are almost always raised in pairs, as they form a strong life bond at a young age, and can get lonely otherwise. They are full of energy when young, constantly playing with a jade ball that the have had since you can remember. Their playful, high pitched yelps make you smile, and you drop to your knees to join them in a mock battle. Before you know it, small teeth have assaulted your cloak and pulled you down. It is all you can do to raise your hands and ward off warm licks.
Взрослый: The day smells crisp and fresh, and you have taken the liberty of sitting for a moment to catch your breath. A dog sits besides you, ears cocked as it listens to something you cannot hear. Gently, you run a hand through the bright yellow fur of your companion, marveling at how the sun catches it. The tenera dog leans it's large head into your caress, a dark tongue lolling out contentedly. You rise slowly from your seat on a rock, and stretch before you continue on your way down the path. Your fingertips can just brush its large head, and the two of you walk on for some time silently. As you come to the rise of a hill, though, you can see another tenera making it way towards you, and your companion leaves you with a parting lick on the hand. Vibrant tail held high, it happily runs down the hill to meet its friend, and the two exchange a quick greeting before turning and continuing on to The Keep. Smiling, you follow behind, tucking your hands into your long sleeves and watching the two dogs as they play.
